About us
WHO WE ARE
We are professional Clown Doctors, trained in the delicate art of medical clowning. Through play, humor, magic, puppetry, music, and improvisation, we help young patients and their families navigate their most difficult moments, making the hospital atmosphere feel lighter and more humane. We exist to bring laughter, mental well-being, and hope to patients.
Since 2012, we have been a constant presence in Latvian hospitals, standing right where we are needed most: next to children, their parents, and the medical staff.
We are proud to be part of a global professional movement of medical clowning that began decades ago (pioneered by visionaries like Michael Christensen and Patch Adams). Today, from New York to Tel Aviv and across all of Europe, professional healthcare clowning is recognized as a vital art therapy that is proven to help children cope with stress and get better faster. As a member of this international community, we follow the highest standards of professional training to ensure that every “red nose” visit is a moment of high-quality, clinical-grade emotional support.
Our Mission
Being in a hospital is stressful for any adult, but for a child, it can feel overwhelming. The unknown, foreign environments, and medical procedures create deep anxiety. Even the dedicated doctors and nurses who face this suffering every day need support to prevent burnout.
We step into this space of complex emotions to transform fear into courage. By humanizing the medical journey, we ensure that a child’s spirit remains strong and playful, even in a hospital bed.
Your Impact
Dr. Klauns is a fully donation-based initiative. We rely entirely on the generosity of our community to keep our mission alive.
With every purchase you make in Dr. Klauns e-shop , you are sending a professional Clown Doctor to a child who needs a reason to smile today. You aren’t just buying a gift; you are providing the professional care and emotional support that makes recovery possible.
Thank you for choosing to make a difference. Together, we are making the hospital a place of healing, one laugh at a time.
